Panel Page with custom theme breaks layout

I am using a panels page to modify my front page.

I have many issues using a custom theme, one of them is that the front page using the panel page is not displaying correctly.

You can compare the correct behavior

with the wrong behavior (using panel page)

http://aiace-greece.selfip.biz/front.

The problem that I need help with is that the text of the stories is breaking on the edge of the center area.

I probably should not use this theme since I have many other issues, but my client is insisting on using it. Any idea will be really appreciated.

Thank you.
