When I try to edit custom content, the body box locks up, doesnt display, or doesnt allow me to edit the content. Im using CKeditor as my WYSIWYG editor.

I have this issue as well. I am working around it for the time being, by creating a separate WYSIWYG text format and using filtered or (for myself, user 1) full HTML text formats in custom content panes in order to show images, links, etc. Not a full solution, but it is a temporary workaround at least, while we wait for CKeditor to work with "lazy loading" as merlinofchaos called it, I believe.
