I want to present the map on the right zoom level (country scale). The map scales correctly when searching for a location. But as far as I an see the bounds data are not preserved in the field. So after saving the boundary box is lost.

Hi
That is correct. At the moment is 'location' lat and lng what get stored. bounds/viewport is not used.
