The help text for the cck field displays beneath the WKT field, but you normally can't see it because this field is usually collapsed. It seems like it would make more sense to display help text beneath the Search Address field. Sorry I am not able to provide a patch at this time.

Confirming this usability issue. To clarify issue location find attached screenshot. My vote goes to display help text beneath the Search Address field. This is the usual location with other modules. If users search for help they expect to find it beneath the Search Address field.

Any volunteer for a patch? I would be happy to contribute testing.
