By default, cron is not configured to run.
I'd suggest to change the installation profile, and enable cron by default (run every: 1 hour)

we recommand to not activate cron in Drupal and make a scheduled job on the server.

Scheduled job will be executed at every time occurence planned in the configuration server.
Drupal cron will be executed only when time is exceeded and a anonymous user is comming to the website.
