If I try to change add or just view the customize this page I get the below error when I try to save it. So far it only appears to have this issue on the dashboard panel ---- This is a fairly new install with hardly any extra features.
An AJAX HTTP error occurred.
HTTP Result Code: 500
Debugging information follows.
Path: /panels/ajax/ipe/save_form/panelizer%3Auser%3A1%3Apage_manager?destination=user/1/view
StatusText: Service unavailable (with message)
ResponseText: EntityMalformedException: Missing bundle property on entity of type node. in entity_extract_ids() (line 7817 of /home/mysite/public_html/includes/common.inc)

I noticed this when a user said they don't have tasks showing that are assigned to them on the dashboard. They have full access to tasks etc while looking in the tasks section. I then realized my admin user has the same issues.

I figured it was just an incorrect setting which it was set to fields vs table. After changing that I tried to save with no luck. So then I tried adding any new panel and saving no luck. Then I just hit customize this page did nothing and save as custom again with no luck.

I am able to customize pages everywhere else I have tried so far which is currently only a few areas.

Yes it appears its a duplicate. Couldn't find it for some reason.

THanks

Although your problem could be related to comment #4 and others that follow (in the issue https://www.drupal.org/node/2286495 that i mentioned before), i believe that those comments might not be in the right place. They present a different error and different conditions from the original post in issue #2286495. Therefore i do not believe that your issue is a duplicate.

On the other hand, i believe that this might be related more directly with panels, jquery version or a conflict with some other javascript.

So what would be most useful here is a debug_backtrace() to see why entity_extract_ids is being called with wrong info

function entity_extract_ids($entity_type, $entity) {
  $info = entity_get_info($entity_type);

  // Objects being created might not have id/vid yet.
  $id = isset($entity->{$info ['entity keys']['id']}) ? $entity->{$info ['entity keys']['id']} : NULL;
  $vid = ($info ['entity keys']['revision'] && isset($entity->{$info ['entity keys']['revision']})) ? $entity->{$info ['entity keys']['revision']} : NULL;

  if (!empty($info ['entity keys']['bundle'])) {
    // Explicitly fail for malformed entities missing the bundle property.
    if (!isset($entity->{$info ['entity keys']['bundle']}) || $entity->{$info ['entity keys']['bundle']} === '') {
      print_r(debug_backtrace()); // output of this (use browser network tab to get full page output)
      throw new EntityMalformedException(t('Missing bundle property on entity of type @entity_type.', array('@entity_type' => $entity_type)));
    }
    $bundle = $entity->{$info ['entity keys']['bundle']};
  }
  else {
    // The entity type provides no bundle key: assume a single bundle, named
    // after the entity type.
    $bundle = $entity_type;
  }

  return array($id, $vid, $bundle);
}
