I am building a site that could potentially have 20'000 sections (total), in 200 spaces. Most of those sections would be shared by 2-3 users in different groups and have 3-4 contentTypes. Any warnings about, or experience with, such a scale and scope?

We have a client with 16,000 spaces and subspaces (with a larger number of sections within those spaces). So yes, this is a tested use-case. Be sure to use the latest 2.3x versions of OA. The 2.2x series has many performance issues on sites with lots of spaces.

Another key is to be sure you have MemCache enabled and monitor it's usage to size it. Other than that, typical Drupal hosting requirements for larger sites would apply.
