We use this module (and OG) pretty widely.

We had actually been planning a ground-up rewrite (in a 3.x branch) of OG Menu to streamline/refactor the code.

Given #857438: Drupal Organic Groups Menu Module 6.x-2.0 XSS Vulnerability we'd like to get the module patched in the 2.x branch, and then work on the rewrite in the 3.x branch.

The people working on this are marcp and jgraham (all of us are at FunnyMonkey).

@jide - we'd start by addressing the issues that we've reported or contributed in:

jgraham has some ideas about how to provide some nice functionality that most folks are looking for. There are issues that we haven't reported regarding code cleanup, so as we run through the issue queue we'd clean up what we ran across.

Since there'd likely be some change in functionality, it'd be best to get the 2.x branch stable and do any further work in 3.x.

We're happy to work with you, though, jide if you'd like to keep maintainership of the module.

1/ I realized I cannot add comaintainers to the project since I am not the original author of the module and have only been added as a co-maintainer. So the maintainership should be added by ashsc or leonk. They were hard to reach when I last tried to contacted them.

2/ Theoretically, you should have proposed some patches before being added as a co-maintainer (see http://drupal.org/node/363367). So maybe the first step is to create issues with patches or an archive with a complete rewrite to see where we go.
