Dear developers,

first of all, thank you for the module! :)

I was wondering, is it possible to change settings of "Notify" module in a way so that the notifications would be sent straight away?

E.g. when an user creates new blog or add a comment, the system would not wait for the next run of cron, but it would send e-mails immediately.

Best regards,

Peter

The Notify module is designed to send out notifications in batches triggered by cron, and there is no setting to override that. Nor are there any plans to add such a setting.

This means that if you want immediate notifications, instead of batched ones, you must find a different notification module.

This module: Notifications, claims to be capable of both "Immediate or digested notifications" (however, it seems to have stalled around 2011 and is currently seeking a new maintainer, so it may not be the best option unless you want to adopt it).

A workaround, if you want to stay with Notify, is to set to cron to run fairly frequently.

Hi Gisle,

thank you for the information! :) I thought I might have missed some settings, but from now on I will not search for such option anymore.

I will stay with Notify, because it is great module and it is very well made. :)

I am sure, there are some advantages of sending notifications in batches, but some users are accustomed to old style practices. :)
