Based on: Notification when creating/editing node
I disabled Notifications & Subscriptions completely. Installed Notify, configured on admin/config/people/notify & added the block to user/#/edit but the block is not showing on user/register. I enabled for my full site admin and for my test user but admin/config/people/notify/users shows "No users have notifications enabled." What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.
Note: I can't find any option to enable by default notifications to all the new users like there is one to enable the personal contact form. By aware that I'm using Drupal 7.x and DS on many of my pages (registration, user edit, etc.)

gisleI am not sure what is meant by "added the block to user/*/edit" - can you expand?
For what content types have you enabled Notify?
Also, have you given the permission "access notify" to authenicated users (admin/people/permissions)?
(Let's get those sorted out before moving on to "No users have notifications enabled" and the rest.)

warmth commentedSeems like all the issue are the use of Tab Tammer to hide tabs and the mess/confusion that several Notification systems (like Comment Notify) installed at the same time can make. I'm heading to see your solution to turn Notify on by default for new users and for current users in bulk. Thank in advance for all your help gilse.
The solution for those using Tab Tammer is to create a button point to
user/#/notify, for those using Overlay remember to add the#overlay=user/#/notifyComment #2.0

gisleIt is great to hear that the setup worked out fine.
To turn Notify on by default for new users, you only need to make sure that "Notification checkbox default on new user registration form" in checked in the Admin interface.
There is no bulk command for existing users. If you don't want to do it one-by-one, you need to work directly with the database.
warmth commentedYes, it's already checked. I was wondering if this activate the 3 types of notifications or just a default config.
Can you give me an SQL command to do it? You know better the dB of Notify so I can apply it without being worried of messing something. Thanks in advance.
gisle"Notification checkbox default on new user registration form" turns on the master switch, and Notify new content (Title only). It doesn't turn on Notify new comments.
I need to get back to you about the SQL. It is not something I'm able to do from the top of my head.
warmth commentedOk thanks, another question. How can I customize the email and its texts?
gisleYou can't.
This particular feature request was first requested in June 2006 and the request has never been closed: http://drupal.org/node/70959, so there is still hope. However, since it has not made it into a release in 6.5 years, I'd say it is not high on the maintainer's list of priorities.

warmth commentedI'm very good in PHP, but I have never tried to do any patch in my life. With some guide I could help to make that happen.
