I have custom field for my page "Related pages" that i had setup using CCK node reference.
I got stuck with an issue when i had two pages referencing each other.

I understand that, when using CCK node references, Since each page has reference to other page, System goes into infinite loop trying to load contents of both the nodes.

Question is, is node_load required to be used for node reference field , when all we need is node id and title. This seems to be a very common error.

Any help to get this sorted is greatly appreciated.

I'll check this out, but are you sure that it's a bug with Node Reference ASM Select (this module) and not with the basic Node Reference module? All this module does is to display a different widget for editing Node References.

Anyhows, can you please export your CCK configuration so that I can try to recreate the issue?

It does look to e more of a bug with basic node reference. I did not find option to choose basic node reference .. so posted here.

I was able to reproduce this bug again with clean install .. Here is what i di

1) Edit page type and add additional node reference field "related pages".
2) In step 2, select all node types to refer.

3) Create page 1, then create page 2.

4) Now edit page 1, and in related pages, choose page 2 to refer.
5) Now edit page 2, and for related pages, select page 1.

This will send the page in infinite loop, and all the pages that display text from pages 1 & 2 will be broken as well.

If you think this request should goto different place, can you advice where i can post the request pls..

Question is - did you choose "ASM Select" as the widget for editing this Node Reference field?

And again - please post the output of the "export" operation in CCK, otherwise I may have trouble recreating this issue.
