I was wondering whether there is a way to suppress the 'autocomplete'-functionality and just present plain text fields for inputting titles of newly to be created nodes.
Use-case: Create a node of content-type "classified_ad" with any number of items to sell. Items to be advertised are of the node type "ad_item". Those items are always new and should not be detected by the autocomplete widget while entering their names even if other classified ads had items of the same name in them.

Attila commentedYou could choose a view that selects to which nodes a user can refer. If you add a filter what does not return anything (e.g. Node type is not one of *select all node types*), the autocomplete will be "disabled".
