It would by really great to have some sort of the chat history. When user refreshes the page, all messages are gone.
This could be done several ways, the best would be some db (mongo, mysql) or at least some file cache with (let's say) 1 day limit.

I agree that it would be a nice feature. However, as I'm not in need of that for the moment, and currently need the time for some other projects, I won't be adding this myself. However, I'll be happy to accept patches for it. Consider:

  1. Both message transmission systems need to be covered (Drupal one, and Server extension).
  2. Got to assume default system storage. Probably best to enhance other systems through a hook, or a variable stored when creating a chat channel, specifying a callback (just an idea) responsible to store that.
  3. The way the chat id is generated would need to be persisted (obviously), therefore the way users are granted access checked in a better way as well, and maybe stored against the chat ID too. Otherwise, in a scenario where multiple chats are rendered in the same screen, but with possibility to change rendering order in different page reloads, it could happen that a chat history from a wrong Chat Window is rendered, which is not really ideal.

Closing, as i don't have any plans to implement this for the time being. Maybe for a D8 release.

Sad. I can't use the module without history...
