To me, this module provides vital feature in that a casual user (not Drupal savvy) can be granted the ability to easily update some content in a node/add form. Is there some other module I'm overlooking that provides a similar solution?

I agree this module is awesome. Non technical users can edit the node. Plus the same node can be use in multiple CCK content types.

That I know of it's the only module able to do this. Other modules can't:
