In older versions there was a Views Filter that would allow you to create a view of top level nodes only. Now there are no Views filters in either 2.1 or the 3.x DEV versions.

I have tried using node hierarchy relationships to create a view with top level parents only (nodes that do not have parents themselves) but have found that it is impossible now.

Is there a way to accomplish this, or is this feature going to be reinserted again?

I brought this issue up almost a year ago and never received a response (http://drupal.org/node/941798). It has come up again and I need to find a way to achieve this. Thanks!

You've been waiting a while for this! In trying to clean up issues, I'm marking this as a duplicate of the #1086062: Add option in Views to filter out all nodes that are childs.
