After watching the podcast from Mustardseed Media (http://mustardseedmedia.com/podcast/episode45), I gained a pleasant insight! NH can natively provide a block to display the active tail links based on hierarchy.

Menuless Node Type (http://drupal.org/project/menuless_nodetype) was also mentioned, but 3.x already has this feature implemented natively.

The other module mentioned to accomplish the block idea was Menu Block (http://drupal.org/project/menu_block).

Cleaning up the issue queue. Every time I've used Node Hierarchy, I've also used Menu Block. Maybe it would be worth creating a Handbook page somewhere to explain some common workflows and integration.
