I love this module! Just curious, what are you planning as the future direction? How is the dev version different from the 6x-1.6 version.

I think it's pretty safe to say the future direction of this module is to remain a simpler solution than ds_forms. Right now there is nothing in -dev for d6, (there might have been in 2011 when this post was originally created)
There will be some improvements for d7 for field_group and domain compatibility, but generally no major enhancements.
