How to upgrade from 2.2 to 3.0? [#1048544]

Hi,

According to version information, v. 2.2 is outdated and out of maintenance, so an upgrade is mandatory, but there is no way to upgrade from 2.2 to 3.0 but uninstall and install the new version from scratch.

I have lots of protected nodes by password to review in several websites, and current password appears to be unrecoverable from database. What can I do?

Don't upgrade just now. I'll see if I can do anything about it.

I've reverted to 2.2 as the recommended release as there are bugs with the 3.x branch.

I've made an update script and put out a release but I am going to leave the 3.x branches as 'supported' rather than 'recommended' for a little while to see what the reaction is.
