Gallery max. image size different from upload settings.

I have set my maximum image size at 580x580 in the Upload settings.

When I click on thumbnails in the node image, these are the size limitations followed.

When I go into the gallery though, that same photo is shown at 670 width. Why is the upload settings ignored for the gallery? Why should this be happening?

I did another test and deleted that image, set the size restriction at 380x380 and saw similar thing. In node view, 380 maximum. In gallery view, it came out at 410 width.

So it seems as though the gallery max. width is something like 110% of what it should be.
