It should be possible to simple iterate throught a list of nodes to generate new nodes.
A Use Case would be:
1. A list of nodes must be companied by a list of similar nodes
2. Delete all child nodes before a parent is removed.
A solution would be:
1. define a workflow with PHP action
2. use a view as the source list ... call the view from within code with type 'items'
3. produce for each source list node a new node
According to views export and michell @ irc the type could items in:
// Set up some variables that won't change.
$base_vars = array(
'view' => $view,
'view_type' => $type,
);
But I still don't know how to call the view! Probably with a call to
function phptemplate_views_view_list_filmstrip($view, $nodes, $type) {

clemens.tolboomFrom irc
(16:28:28) killes: $view = views_get_view('foo'); views_load_cache(); views_sanitize_view($view); print views_build_view('embed', $view, array(), TRUE, $limit);

clemens.tolboomI will not build this into node_factory.
Maybe as an raw view iterator for workflow_ng project
