If I am able to get a variant working correctly it will only appear once to a user. I understand that it is not supposed to show the other variations to the same user but the problem is that upon reloading or revisiting the same page the variant disappears, falling back to your theme's default CSS. So effectively the user only sees the variant one time, and then the page changes on them back to the default, ignoring the variants entirely.

Run condition: front page
Variant sets: internal CSS to set style of #site-name
Success conditions: path = node

Not sure exactly how this is happening, but while doing tests for this issue, I did find bug for 'front page' running condition - $_GET['q'] was not properly initialized for running tests - maybe this also created your problem.

I just committed c607ecb which is fixing $_GET['q'] initialization problem. Can you grab latest dev version with this commit and check do you still have this problem?
