If I select 50 images ... only 25 images are showing up after saving the node.
BUT the other 25 images are uploaded and saved in the DB.

I found something similar here : http://drupal.org/node/682038
It was a known issue with ajax files (answer 4), but I can't find it...
A little help would be nice :)

sure I checked php.ini... like I said, my 50 files are uploaded (I see them in the upload dir) but only 25 are visible.

But finaly I found it ! :-) (after almost 1 year...lol)

It was a nginx-config setting (fastcgi setting).
Tested it with apache2 and all went well so it must be a nginx problem.

Pfew... that was hard :-)

Hi Shane, this still seems to be an issue, at least with 7.1.2 for me.

I've checked all server settings, (php.ini etc), and the multiupload "file" widget works correctly but this "image" one still restricts to 25 being displayed.

This setting in PHP.ini was causing my issue:

; Maximum number of files that can be uploaded via a single request
max_file_uploads = 20
