I have a very large menu structure which is put into a menu block with the "Starting Level" set to "2nd level (secondary)". For a node which has multiple menu links within this menu structure, I am finding it difficult to choose which menu item should be used when determining the 2nd level that is displayed. The system currently seems to choose the last menu link added for that menu structure, which causes problems when people add new menu links in sections of the menu structure not intended to be the displayed 2nd level menu. Weight is not ideal to use in this situation because it also controls the ordering of the menu links within each 2nd level area.
I would use NodeSymLinks, but I don't want an individual menu & breadcrumb trail per menu link, just choosing the preferred menu link for display purposes.
Thanks in advance for any help people can provide.

rroose commentedI'm looking for the same functionality as well. Or at least make the menu item that's added first (and not the last) the 'main' menu item which the other menu items refer to.

milancrash commentedI'm looking for the same functionality as well. Normally the first menu item is the main link to the node.

kevinquillen commentedI just ran into this myself, and I am not even using the module. The problem persists in 8.x - I am using Menu Block.
Cross linking for reference.
