Two qeuries or needs
1. can we have many common fields - so that each resultant node has all the common fields and one of multiple field?
2. Is it possible to have more than one (say 2) multi submit fields - so i have one common field but two fields as multi submit fields and each resultant node getting populated with three fields >> common field + multi submit field A and muti submit field B - is that possible. for example Description is common and then i have two multi fields - episode field and episode_report field - so that the final nodes that get created - each has title, episode1 and episode_report1.

1. The nodes are cloned. So all nodes will share all the other fields, so what you're asking for *is* the current behaviour.
2. Nope. Well... Yes... But it doesn't do this at the moment and probably never will as the UI would become too complicated! I think though as you've misunderstood 1. then perhaps you need to rethink what it is you actually want?!

Thanks for the quick revert Pobster.
#1. was more of clarification - now clear - thanks.
#2 - i am actually clear of my requirement. I run a school. So my actual requirement is as follows:
The teachers fills in date and class name etc (common fields) and then for each child they write their observations - so here are two fields - one child name and two each child's observation.
Currently if there are 10 children in a class - we have to fill in cck one by one for each child.
We like to do a multi submit. IS something like this possible.

Also a little unrelated to this module - but just thought of checking with you - is there a way to (create) submit different cck via one submit button - what i am looking for is one page where i have at the top cck 1 (with its fields) and then cck2 (with its fields) and so on and then one submit button which creates that many nodes.

Thanks for your patience with my queries

Ah okay that does make sense but I'm not sure how the UI would work. I mean how would you say that one CCK (2.x version ) field relates to another, the only real way is to use multigroups which isn't available until version 3.x - so I can't support this just yet…

I don't really see this as an issue though, the module was created to aid with the creation of nodes - not necessarily to have one singular place to maintain multiple nodes. If you want to do that, I'd suggest doing what we did in this project - use this module to create the nodes, have a View to show all the nodes and finally, use editablefields so that all these nodes can be maintained in one place, like a large spreadsheet.

As for your other question, this sounds a little too specific to your requirements. I'd say it sounds like you need to find someone to write something like that for you.

Thanks for your patient replies. I am sure i would still use this module in some way :-)
