Per-Field Default Values

It would be useful if each field under "Mandatory Fields" or "Fields to Manage" had a further option to specify a default value for that field. That way, the user doesn't have to enter the same value over and over if he doesn't want to.

The way I see this working is: If the field is checked, and a default value is specified, that field would appear on the node add form, but with the default value in place (in case the user wants to change it for a few values.) If the field is not checked, but the default value is specified, then the field won't appear on the add form, but the field will still be added to the node upon save using the default value specified. There's probably a better way, but that's what leaps to mind.
