Hello,

I've been using module_builder for quite some time now and I absolutely love it. However, in recent weeks I find this module to be completely useless. What changed? I'm not sure.

In the past I was typing something like the following:

drush mb custom menu block init --write

... and I would get a module.

Now I do the same thing and it demands that I enter mandatory "help" text, mandatory dependencies, and a mandatory package.

FURTHER to this annoyance, if the module already exists and/or I skip the "--write" flag it asks me for all of this information AGAIN. If all I want is the form_alter block I must re-type each of these questions just to get something I can copy and paste. Super frustrating! Defeats the whole purpose of this module IMO.

I am using Drush version 3.3 which is the current stable release.

Indeed -- if you're used to the quick way, the interactive mode is a pain.

Add the --noi option.
To get the old behaviour, add the --noi option to your drushrc.php so you have:

$options['data'] = '/Users/blah/blah/';
$options['noi']  = 1;

I should probably add something to the readme...

I've added a note to the project page.

How's this for the readme?

Issue #1096526 by joachim: Added note to README about disabling interactive mode.

I was thinking it would be nice to setup other defaults in the drushrc as well. Someone could setup default hooks they use quite a bit but don't like typing out.

or is this possible already (in which case it should be added to README).

Thoughts?

You can add anything in the drushrcphp... though when I say anything, I mean options, so I don't think you can put in default commands.

We could add a --default-commands option for that purpose though -- file a new issue :)

BTW @Ryan: Drush latest is 4.3 now.

Omg awesome! This was driving me crazy. I realize those other fields are important - just not every time. --noi I can do.

Curious about the drushrc.php file, never checked that out before. Methinks I have some more READMEs to read. Thanks for that tip.

Re: drush version. I'm using Drupal 6, and for some reason the latest version of Drush is D7 only.

It's not. It's always cross-version, it's just the release version numbers are a bit funny because the whole of the drupal.org release system is built on the idea of core compatibility...

Ah of course. I thought that was weird - I have drush v.4 rolled out on some systems and was surprised to see it tagged to d7 only.

I'm marking this thread closed - thanks for your help!
