I'm installing this module for the first time. So, maybe this is just user error.
When I'm at: "admin/settings/module_builder/update" the files are reported as downloaded correctly, but when I browse those files.. I see HTML describing a 404 error. For example,

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN">
<html><head>
<title>404 Not Found</title>
</head><body>
<h1>Not Found</h1>
<p>The requested URL /viewvc/drupal/contributions/modules/module_builder/hooks/module_builder.php was not found on this server.</p>
<hr>
<address>Apache/2.2.3 (CentOS) Server at drupalcode.org Port 80</address>
</body></html>

Most other files are similar.
When I attempt to create a module at "admin/build/module_builder". I an error message reporting:
No hooks were found. Please check the documentation path specified in the Administer >> Site configuration >> Module builder page.

Title: Paths to hooks definitions broken? » Git migration: change paths to hook definitions
Priority: Normal » Critical

Oh. That'll be because of the migration to Git.... the URLs all need changing.

Not a huge job, as the base path is stored in a variable or constant or somesuch, so it's just a matter of changing that and tweaking the logic that the final URL looks like, for example:

http://drupalcode.org/project/module_builder.git/blob_plain/refs/heads/6...

I'm super-busy for the next few days, week probably in fact, so if anyone had time to make a patch for this that would be brilliant.

I have a patch half way there, with the exception of the core hooks (core.php, node.php, install.php).

I was notified that the paths to the docs directory were overlooked on git migration day and that they should be fixed towards the end of the week. Once that is done, i can finish the patch for this.

Thanks! :D

O_o...

I can't see an issue open for the missing docs folders -- can you give me the link please?

aaronott’s picture

Apologies not sure there is one. Got a message from sdboyer in the irc when I asked about it.

From #drupal-gitsupport on March 1: (times in MDT)

(12:17:11 PM) aaronott: I'm trying to find how I would get this information with git. http://drupalcode.org/viewvc/drupal/contributions/docs/developer/hooks/c...
(12:17:20 PM) aaronott: or where I can find the core.php file
(12:17:26 PM) aaronott: other than api.drupal.org
(12:20:31 PM) aaronott: I'm also looking for the node.php in D6. I see that I can reference node.api.php in D7

(12:22:57 PM) sdboyer: aaronott: the stuff that previously lived under docs got looked over on migration day, i'll be fixing it up thursday or friday

Just looked and I don't see a ticket for it either.

Version: 6.x-2.x-dev » 7.x-2.x-dev

Heh, this would probably be the issue I'm encountering as well huh...I'm using the Drush plugin, so updating version to include that.

Looks like @aaronott is on the case, so I'll just hang tight and cook my module the old-fashioned way till then.

Version: 7.x-2.x-dev » 6.x-2.x-dev

@aaronott: could you file an issue on the git migration to maybe jog sdboyer's memory...?

BTW: 7.x should work fine, as the hook definitions live inside the Drupal package itself.

aaronott’s picture

Sure thing. After I get off this plane, I'm on it.

aaronott’s picture

I've opened the following issue for this. it won't allow me to assign it though.
#1083392: hook docs from CVS are no longer available under GIT.

** EDIT **
That issue was closed do to duplicate. Tracking this new issue id.
#1044208: Account for data not currently included in the migration scripts

Brilliant! All works perfectly again.

BTW, remember to do 'git diff --relative' so you don't get the a and b prefixes :)

Committed to both branches.

Issue #1076516 by aaronott: Changed URLs to point to git repository viewer.

aaronott’s picture

I just copied and pasted the instructions from the git instructions section to roll the patch.

Huh. They're wrong...
