The detection is done correctly but when accessing the m.domain.com I get 2 errors:
403 Forbidden (which I can fix it with a local .htaccess: Options +Indexes.) and a 500 Internal Server Error.
The same on all Drupal 7 installs. The reason is m.domain.com folder is empty and there should be a page there.
Could you fix it?
