I have installed Mobile Tools, and it is seemingly detecting the browser in my iPhone -- when I have it set to use a redirect to a different url for mobile, it goes to m.domainname.com -- however it is NOT switching to the mobile theme.
I've tried every setting I think I understand -- I've tried using theme switching based on URL or based on device detection; I've used built in device detection and I've used Browscap device detection; etc. etc.
One thing I'm wondering about is Mobile Roles -- what are these and do they need to be configured for this work? This is the only configuration tab for the module that fails. I get a White Screen of Death with the following error message:
Call to undefined function db_fetch_object() in /path/to/my/folder/for/drupal-7.0/sites/all/modules/mobile_tools/mobile_tools_roles.inc on line 102
Obviously, I'd like to fix this matter no matter what, but most of all right now I just want to the module to work. Is this relevant, and does anyone know what that problem is here?

tebb commentedSeeing the same error under the same / very similar conditions.

jodeygrist commentedI'm getting the same problem, it won't switch themes based on detecting the browser, I didn't actually want the url to change, as I'd like to use the same site, with literally a different layout.

ryanwebpage commentedI have a patch for theme switching. see http://drupal.org/node/1054046
Comment #6
tebb commentedI'm I right in saying that the patch doesn't fix the other part of this issue?
Call to undefined function db_fetch_object() in /path/to/my/folder/for/drupal-7.0/sites/all/modules/mobile_tools/mobile_tools_roles.inc on line 102I see the WSoD too.

I only created a patch for the theme switching issue. I've never used the roles feature of mobile tools before so I did not have a need to patch the D7 port. db_fetch_object is no longer a function in D7. There is now a much improved db abstraction layer. I will give patching the roles issue a shot when I get a chance.

ryanwebpage commentedHere is a patch for the errors on the roles admin page for 7.x-2.x-dev. I fixed all the errors on the page load and form submit. However, I have never used the roles feature of mobile tools so I have no idea if it ties into roles properly and reacts as it should on the front end. Give it a shot and let me know if it works?

tebb commentedThank you for the patch Jepedo.
I'm not in a position to test it at the moment. I also don't understand how mobile roles work with normal roles and that's what I will be looking at.
I don't know anything about git yet. I see it's a git diff patch and contains a/ and b/.
Can I apply this using the normal:
patch -p0 < mobile-tool-roles-admin-errors-1082734.patch
from the mobile tools module directory?

ryanwebpage commentedI just got co-maintainer status so I will release a new dev version with the two patches soon.

twom commentedHey guys,
Thanks for taking some lead on the D7 branch. I hope to spend some time later in working on the D7 branch, but in meantime jepedo can help out! Thanks for the initiative.

tebb commentedGreat. I now have a site ready to test the next dev when relaesed.

shelly2bit commentedi can't even find out where to set the theme for each device - where is this?
akoepke commentedHi Shelly2bit,
The theme can be set via the Mobile Tools item in the Configuration screen. Click on the Theme Switching tab and you can specify different themes for set groups of devices.

jeremyasmith commentedI have a similar problem with Drupal 6, My site will switch to m. url but will display the default theme (garland) instead of the mobile theme (mobile garland). However I notice that if I log on and go to any administration page it switches themes correctly to the mobile theme, but when I go back to a 'normal' page it goes back to garland? Will the patch above work for Drupal 6? Any help would be much appreciated.

mcrittenden commentedIs this issue still relevant? Setting to needs review since there's a (possibly outdated) patch.
joaogarin commentedHello,
This is not updated in the latest branch available am i right?
New :
Isnt this an issue for the Unstable version??And not the 7.x.2. version? The newer version uses theme_key to change the theme, and not setting the default theme by hand..
Best regards,
Joao Garin
