I've been looking at a lot of pages about the Migrate module, a lot of example modules and even into sql.inc but I haven't been able to figure out how to get started with a migration from a MySQL database.

I'm already stuck at the beginning. I would like to keep the database outside of the Drupal database. How do I use MigrateSourceSQL to import from mysql://localhost/bewelcome_db? Or is there something else I have to do?
