No itemtype defined

Hello. I am running Drupal 7.35 and just installed the Microdata module.

I go into my content type, select "Microdata" and define the Item type and click "Save Content type".

I then go to "manage fields" and select a field I want to add a microdata tag to. I then see:

SUPPLIER MICRODATA MAPPING
No itemtype has been defined for Products. Define one on the Products edit page.

I go back to the content type edit page, add the microdata type again, save and repeat. Endless loop. Also tried adding the info in configuration but it never seems to "take" and save the type.
