Getting a Fatal error: Cannot access empty property in modules/field/field.attach.inc on line 661

I am having the same problem. The only way to recover drupal was to disable the media module.
The error is:
Cannot access empty property in field/field.attach.inc on line 661

To reproduce the error what I did is install media module (and dependencies). Add a media field in article content type. Go to "content->media" and press the thumbnail viewer.
After these steps the drupal instalation is broken. The only solution has been to disable media module.

I hope this helps to locate the problem.

PS: I change it to critical because with this issue not only the media module is not usable, but the entire drupal installation.

i have an other fatal error. Here is the message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function admin_menu_suppress() in /usr/www/users/xxx/drupal7/sites/all/modules/media/media.module on line 407

I become the message when i try to access:

admin - content - media tab - add file

I don't think Media currently works with Drupal BETA 2.

I am using 7.x-dev from yesterday (25.oct)

I'm not sure if it's relevant, but I'm also getting:

Notice: Undefined index: field_name in field_attach_load() (line 657 of /[filepath]/modules/field/field.attach.inc).
Notice: Undefined index: field_id in field_attach_load() (line 658 of /[filepath]/modules/field/field.attach.inc).

Using beta2 core and beta1 media.

I'm not able to reproduce this with current HEAD of media and BETA2. :(

I'll keep trying, but if anyone feels like debugging a bit, it might help.

No problem for me now with latest media 7 dev on Drupal7 dev.

I get this error -- seems directly related to this forum -- every time i try to install media -- and i have tried to install every one of them for d7 except for the one that specifically says "do not use"

FieldException: Attempt to create an instance of field file on bundle default that already has an instance of that field. in field_create_instance() (line 683 of /var/www/drupal/modules/field/field.crud.inc).

i have to disable to get drupal to work...

I have follow through the Installation file from the media module and have installed all the modules and API to make the media gallery work but it is giving the sale error
