AI chatbots and agents (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, and similar tools) fetch pages directly and never execute JavaScript, so Matomo's standard tracking code never sees them. This leaves a growing share of traffic completely invisible in your analytics.
This is a submodule for the Drupal Matomo Analytics module. It requires Matomo to be installed and configured, and reuses its site ID, tracker URL, and visibility settings instead of introducing separate configuration.
On the server side, it recognizes requests from known AI chatbot and agent user agents and reports them to your Matomo instance in dedicated bot-tracking mode, after the response has already been sent to the visitor.
This adds visibility into AI traffic without affecting normal visitor analytics or page performance.
