I wonder if it's possible to let the new elements fade in at the bottom rather than have them moved in from top left corner of the browser to it's place.

Close this more than 1year old issue as part of new maintainer clean-up issue list job.
Note that this module is not intended to have CSS inclusion, therefore, it is up to you to style your item the way you want with CSS. You can use AnimateCSS for instance (suggestion only).
