When browsing the code, from my very basic knowledge of the Drupal framework, I get the impression that I should be able to link certain fields to the Drupal taxonomies. Is this implemented, and how would I do that?

aaustin commentedBasically, you should be able to set up a content type with cck fields and taxonomy. You also need marc and marc bib modules turned on. Once you have a content type set up, you should be able to go in to the Marc admin settings, click the "node" tab and map your bib fields to fields in your node. So if you have a taxonomy "subject" enabled for your content type in the mapping for that content type, you should be able to choose "subjects" from the drop down box.
Let me know if that helps.

ringner commentedWonderful!
I added another taxonomy for authors and connected it to the additional authors field, and it works just fine!
(My question actually had to do with my problems with the subject field import, then. :)

aaustin commentedGood, I think this was a documentation problem combined with the subject issue, http://drupal.org/node/823914 which should be fixed now.
