Hi,

are you thinking on making a version for Drupal 6?

Some of us would be very happy having this module for D6

Thanks for making a photographers' life a bit easier!

I am using the image module in 6.x with the subdirectories patch and some other 6.x mods and I would LOVE to have the date the image was taken become the date of the node! Also, it would be great to maintain my tags from Picassa to Drupal. I'll probably make a test site in 5.x to try this out to see if it works with my images but having this in 6.x would be great. I would suggest (take this as you will as I'm not able to help do the work) to go ahead and make a 6.x in the same manner as 5.x, as "waiting" to see how the other method comes out could mean waiting a year or more!

Hi, there will be a D6 version if for no other reason than I want to move to D6 by the end of the summer. I discussed why in #268847: Satus of D6? and will use that issue to post status updates. As you know, image handling has always been done a dozen ways and I'm waiting to see what the future holds. The merging of image with imagefield has been discussed with dopry (maintainer of imagefield), drewish (maintainer of image) and walkah (original maintainer of image), so it seems like writing MAQUM to fit around image when the people responsible for it plan on pushing image handling in a different direction makes no sense. Then add in the fact that jpesto, a maintainer of filefield and a contributor to imagefield, has proposed (what looks to me to be) a better solution regarding image and file handling in the long run and done substantial work to bring about all these changes, so it doesn't look like there will be a year long (or longer) wait.

For these reasons, I'm fine with waiting until the end of the summer before making any further decisions, though it looks like I may not need to wait that long. Keep an eye on #268847: Satus of D6? for talk about the future of MAQUM.

Thank you all for your feedback.
