Hi,

I run on Drupal 5.2

I installed mailhandler and set configurations as required. My default commands are:

type: jokes
taxonomy: [General]
promote: 1

When I tried retrieving email I get the message " Mailhandler retrieve successful: 1 messages for fun@mydomain.com".

But it seems that no node is created as I do not see anything new under Administer > Content Management > Content.

Thanks in advance.

it does for many people. please check your watchdog logs. check the permissions of the author's email address to create jokes.

The watchdog logs show no errors.

Also I tried posting from the admin account's email itself. Any authenticated user is given the permission to create jokes. So what could be the problem?

I am having the same problem.

type: story
promote: 1

and nothing shows up.

I keep trying to figure out what I am doing wrong and everything seems to be configured correctly but I can't get it to work.

I am running Drupal 5.3

I was having the same problem too. Then I tried copying the commands [type: joke, etc] into the mail body. The node WAS created but most of the commands were ignored & type was set = blog [??].. Finally I changed cron & other settings, changed them back.. & it started working.

I am having the same problem. I tried copying the commands to the mail body, but this did not create the node, unlike in Comment #4. I have tweaked cron and checked other random settings to see if anything obvious jumps out, but to no avail.

Mailhandler installs and I get:

"Mailhandler retrieve successful: 1 messages for blog.****@*****.com"

My client desperately needs this module to work so he can blog from his BlackBerry whilst abroad. Any assistance gratefully received.

Hahaha, what an evening. Ok, it was not the mailhandler which caused this for me. After som intense debugging I found that it actually was the casetracker hook that prevented the node being saved. If you are using modules which implements the _mailhandler hook check if this function retiurns the node object after manipulation. This should also be a check in mailhandler; if the returned value is null, continue anyway. Ok, so if you are using casetracker_mail module on line 226 add a return $node; and everything should work. It does for me. And if you don't know if you are using modules which implements the mailhandler hook, add this drupal_set_message($name); on line 78, and you will see get a list of the modules which are invoked.

Hope this helps for some of you.
