I can't seem to find any information about what input is expected in the text box titled Mailhandler Mailbox Code. I have tried a variety of items such as email address, password, user name... but nothing works and it fails to fetch emails. I am running Drupal 7.2 on Fedora 11.
Maybe someone can point me to the documentation for this question, or suggest an input to try.
Thanks.

danepowell commentedI'm not sure what text box you're talking about. Can you please tell me what page you are looking at? (I need the URL path, such as
admin/structure/mailhandler) Also, have you read the README and INSTALL files to see if they answer your question?Comment #2
pdolson commentedDane,
I am logged in as admin. First I select the "Structure" menu bar item. The page presented contains 9 items to select and includes a description of each item. The items are Blocks, Block Exporter, Content types, Feeds importers, Mailhandler Mailboxes, Menus, Pages, Stylizer, and Taxonomy.
On that page I select Mailhandler Mailboxes it goes to a page with the URL:
#overlay=%3Fq%3Dadmin%252Fstructure%252Fmailhandler
This page Storage and Sort by dropdowns, a search box and a couple of other items. At the top there are two link words: +Add and +Import
I select "Import" and the page that contains the textbox is presented with the URL:
#overlay=%3Fq%3Dadmin%252Fstructure%252Fmailhandler%252Fimport
There is a line "Import code >> Settings"
The textbox is below this line with a heading "Mailhandler Mailbox code*"
I can type multiple lines in this box.
Below the box are "Continue" and "Cancel" buttons.
When I select "Continue" the textbox border turns red and the following message is displayed above the textbox:
"Unable to get an import from the code. Errors reported: No item found."
The URL is now:
#overlay=%3Fq%3Dadmin%252Fstructure%252Fmailhandler%252Fimport%26render%3Doverlay
Oh, I have read the README and INSTALL files and could not find any hints. I also Googled "Mailhandler" and checked the plugin download site but couldn't find any information regarding this issue.
Thanks again for taking time to look at this,
Paul Olson

danepowell commentedThe "Import" tool is only for importing existing Mailhandler Mailbox configurations- for instance, if you want to back up a configuration, or use the same configuration on multiple sites, etc...
I think you want to use "Add". Let me know if that doesn't work for you.
Just out of curiousity, why would you choose "Import" instead of "Add" in the first place?

pdolson commentedHi Dane,
You ask a good question. Your answer and then your question made me think. And my conclusion is that I am in the wrong place to do what I was intending.
Don't laugh, but what I am trying to do is "import" a mail message.
So here is my next question. I set a mail box up and then selected the "Test and save" button. It reported that it successfully connected to the mailbox and that the email address was "successfully updated." I took that to mean that it is all working and all I have to do is "import" the mail messages.
I am now at the point where I realize I have to run an "importer" (see, there's that word again). I have Feeds 7.x-2.0-alpha3 installed and configured (I assume correctly) but I didn't go beyond that. I guess I have some more research to do to set up or invoke the feeds code to retrieve emails.
I do have one concern. Since I am now running Drupal 7.2 and these modules are alpha or beta versions I wonder if they are ready to implement in production. What do you think?
I was looking for a simple cookbook way of getting this thing running, but maybe I just haven't dug deep enough yet. If you have any suggestions or simple instructions I would welcome that help. If it is beyond what you have time for, I appreciate your responses.
If I get this thing working I will probably try to write something up to describe how I did it. I would certainly be willing to share that for others to read. Could you recommend the best way for me to get a document to you?
Thanks,
Paul Olson

danepowell commentedHi Paul- it would be best to read the README document included with the module, and try enabling the Mailhandler Default submodule to get a working Feeds Importer without much work.
WriteCo commentedSomething broke and I didn't do it. I noticed that content was not showing up. I checked my Mailhandler mailbox > Import mailhandler mailbox and there were 1655 nodes to import. I tried importing and got the message, "Mailhandler Mailbox code field is required." I do not know why I now need this code when I never had it before or why my site quit importing. Just please tell me where the code is or how to stop Drupal from asking for it. Thank you!
