Hi,
the feature is both important for 6 and 7 versions imho:
Could Lucene API give reference to a comment, not to a node body in search result, if the searched string is in a comment?
This is realized in Search API btw..
I think this feature could be a real gift to many site and forum developers: the importance of comments is often not less significant than the node body..
Thanks

cpliakas commentedHi Iho Tea.
This functionality has been in Search Lucene API 2.x for quite some time. The comments are decoupled from the node body, but you can specify it as a default field by configuring it's content bias. I believe the default is that the comments are searched along with the node body, title, and taxonomy terms.
Thanks,
Chris

Iho Tea commentedThank you, Chris,
Sure, you are right: "the default is that the comments are searched", but how to have a reference from a search result to a certain comment text, that was my question?
