My problem was that the height of the map, when creating or editing content (that is, under: node/x/edit) was too small - a fixed 300 pix.
Through https://www.drupal.org/node/2445431 I learned that this is hard coded on line 139 of the leaflet_widget.module, so it can rather easily be set and most probably needed just once per site.
But it still would be handy if one could adjust map height under >> Manage Fields >> Leaflet.widget >> edit
where you also find Default Map Center and Default Zoom.

Thanks for this tip. It worked well for me.

After looking at the code, I went ahead and created a patch that adds a setting for users to specific the input map height. See screen shot. Give it a try and see if it works. The patch was made against the 7.x-2.x branch. For full disclosure it is my first real patch submission...

hahaha...
For full disclosure, this is the first time I have been able to give a tip that worked for someone ;)
Didn't give your patch a try yet, too taken by other problems for the moment.

Thx @#2452805-2: Set height for content create or edit for the initial patch.

2 things were missing:

- applying the settings to the widget view
- updating all existing field instances to provide the default value

Also, I set the default value to 300px as it was hardcoded originally. So nothing changes as long as you don't adjust the settings.

Patch #5 works nicely for me, with the current 7.x-2.x-dev of leaflet_widget.
