When email missing in ldap - template do not fill out

It looks like we do not yet support the combination of email template and manual user creation. I presume this works fine when you provision users directly via LDAP?

You could attempt to modify the user creation form (see the changes already being done in the LDAP module for hints) to make email optional. If that works fine, this is likely the easiest solution in your case. If you wanted to provide a patch to support this I'd consider adding this but would not guarantee it since this has the potential to create unintended side-effects for existing sites (i.e. how updates to e-mail are handled and if the email template causes email to fall through now on that form).
