From ldap_connect:

The port to connect to. Not used when using URLs.

This is not a bug per se, since it works a specified by the PHP documentation (which was what lead me to discover the issue). However, the description for the LDAP server field says:

For SSL use the form ldaps://DOMAIN such as "ldaps://ad.unm.edu"

So I did, and put my custom port in the port field. However, that port is not used when the address is specified as a URI (with ldaps:// in front).

I've attached a patch which adds a notice to the description of the field, and shows an error message if the user tries to save something in the port field while having an address containing ldaps:// or ldap://

Hi

That's useful information, but I think the sentence got cut off at least for the description, could you provide an update to that?

Thanks!
