I just setup Drupal 6.19 locally. The first think I did was enable core's upload module and itweakupload. When I upload a file no image appears, but two check boxes and a weight selector do. Then when I try to submit the post I am presented the following error.

"warning: Parameter 1 to itweak_upload_upload_form_current() expected to be a reference, value given in C:\wamp\www\drupal\includes\theme.inc on line 656."

I listed this as critical because out of the box it is not functional. It's possible I'm missing something, so let me know if that is the case.

You did not mention you installed imagecache module - it is a soft requirement. Without it no wonder image thumbnails are not displayed.

There is a known issue in 2.3 for new install, and there is a rework posted elsewhere (need to run update.php and force iTweak Upload to latest version). It is fixed in -dev.

Warning is something new, but I won't look into it in -2.3. Does it exist in -dev?

-dev is going to be released in a short while (once few recently fixed bugs get closed).

I got the warning in the v2.3, but I think it should be more stern. It's not usable without imagecache. Once I switched over to the dev I may have already had imagecache running, can't say for sure.

The dev looks great by the way.

The main complaint (broken out of the box) is fixed in -dev, it should also resolve the warning message.

Soft dependency on imagecache is explained in the README and on the project page. No further action on this.

If you see other problems in -dev, please open new issues.
