Insert more than just files

I was wondering if this is the right module for a feature like this.
Along with inserting files onto the node body, can this module be extended to also allow 'inserting' other drupal objects into the node? Some suggestions for objects that can be inserted in this way are:

• Nodes (links to nodes)
• Tags (links to terms from predefined Taxonomy Vocabularies - )
• Users (links to user profiles)

These can be accomplished by having an insert button next to any Node/User Reference fields or Taxonomy fields.

Another idea was to have something like the BUEditor tag auto-complete feature, but maybe that is not within the scope of this module.
