Sorting of directory tree (not the file list)

Hi,

i noticed that the column on the left showing the directory tree isn't ordered at all (random?!).

For example, i have 5 folder in a folder named bananas that get displayed on the left as:

bananas/
--> materials
--> 2009
--> sports
--> collage
--> 2008

There is a way to better control this strange behavior?
