Can this do targeted import into existing nodes via a unique identifier field?

Hello,

Lets say I already have some nodes that have a unique id , that could link the node with the image.

I imported these nodes with node import for example. Now if I add a cck imagefield, can I do the import by linking via this unique id? Lets say, I have this unique id stored as a text field, can I say to the module, to import this image where id = image id or sg like that :)

Based on the project description, I got the feeling this just imports images into a content type as new nodes with imagefield and that is it :)
