dman commentedTrue. That recipe was for a fixed size result. Scale the image down, then overlay the frame..
You may want to make your own bigger picture frame instead.
Or use http://drupal.org/project/imagecache_scale9actions to overlay the effect instead, that tool can do it stretchy for you. It can work along with the polaroid.png sample even

BeaPower commentedOk thanks, the documenation helped me! http://drupal.org/node/575750

dman commentedHere's my demo.
I added the canvas size first to give some spacing around the original before the overlay, as my polaroid original is transparent at the outer edges.
This method works on any size image, the simple example in imagecache_actions does not

BeaPower commentedOk thanks! How can I also add a member's username on the bottom white part? I do have Imagecache with text but not sure how to add it in. you can add replacements and don't know the offset coordinates for it to appear in the bottom middle, would like the white part to fit the text a bit bigger. Also how do I keep the image on top of the bottom one the same height and width even if I were to upload different image sizes - so I dont have them come out in different length sizes? Thanks!

dman commented#683990: Is there a way to put the user name on the picture
For the rest of it, you'll have to experiment yourself. Modify the overlay image you are using or something, good luck.
