mutliple watermark files possible?

Ok this a bit of a silly ask maybe, and probably out side the scope of this module, but, is there any way I can use multiple "watermark overlays" (or similar) to have a range of different images superimposed on uploaded photos.

In case that doesn't explain it well enough: imagine I have a grid view of images, (image thumbnails) each with a overlay image of lets say the photo album holder effect (as in the photo of the vintage plane in a photo book, on the main image cache module page). If each image has the same effect its perhaps a bit obvious. How can I make it so the overlay image has some variety,? lets say one with a black passport mark in a different part of the photo, and one with a corner holder missing etc....
Is there any way to ask imagecache to choose from a list of images? Or even (and I know this might make it more of a views issue) a way to cylcle different imagecache settings in the view? It wouldn't matter if it were random or sequential.

Any ideas would be much appreciated...
