Just created a new site which will make intensive use of images. When switching from GD2 to Imagemagick, the latter continously reports:

'ImageMagick reported an error: /usr/bin/convert: /usr/local/lib/libpng12.so.0: no version information available (required by /usr/lib/libMagick.so.9) . '

Have been digging through drupal.org but can's seem to find any clues.....

Running Drupal 6.17, image 6.x-1.0-beta5

Any clues/directions are welcome....

I have no idea about *anything* to do with ImageMagick, sorry.

I'll leave this open in case other users can give you any help.

Seems like you need to install your distro package with libpng. Not all ImageMagick dependencies are resolved. You may check all is OK with ldd program like this:

> ldd /usr/lib/libMagick.so.10
linux-vdso.so.1 => (0x00007f85341d1000)
liblcms.so.1 => /usr/lib/liblcms.so.1 (0x00007f8533b84000)

libXdmcp.so.6 => /usr/lib/libXdmcp.so.6 (0x00007f8530e3f000)

As you can see in my case (Debian Lenny 5.0.4) there is no link with libpng at all.

I fixed this once. Found a solution online that showed how to change one instrcution in the PHP. Now I have a new install, and need to find it again

Sounds like this issue wasn't caused by Image module.
