I have made an image gallery site using the image module. along with the image presets, i created a preset : wallpaper of standard resolution of 1024x768. This shows on every image node, when clicked image opens in a new window.
Is it possible to have a download link for the 'wallpaper' instead of open in a new window feature?
This way i intend to keep track of how many times an image has been downloaded.
Is there a patch or similar module?

In theory this is possible, though I can't remember how you force an image to download rather than show in the browser.

Neither myself nor the other maintainer have time to work on new features for this project though (we're finding it hard enough to get a full 1.0 release out with all the bugs fixed).

I will however review a patch :)

However, marking as duplicate of #22700: Option to "download" original image. You can follow up on that issue to track its status instead. If any information from this issue is missing in the other issue, please make sure you provide it over there.
